About Idaho’s Sovereign Grand Inspector General.
SGIG Joseph E. Alexander is a Past Grand Master of Masons in Idaho from 2002-2003. He presently serves as the Sovereign Grand Inspector General in Idaho For The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States of America.
Joe spent 40 years at the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls, Idaho working in instrumentation and control, and security engineering and policy for the U. S. Department of
Energy.
He became a Master Mason on April 29, 1975. Joe has been a dedicated Mason
since that time serving as Worshipful Master of his Lodge in 1988 and 2018, Worthy Patron of Henrietta Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 9 times and is a Past Associate Grand Guardian for Job’s Daughters International in Idaho 2021 – 2022.
He was appointed a Deputy to the Supreme Council, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite S.J. in 2006 and elected an Active member and Sovereign Grand Inspector General in Idaho in 2007.
Joe is presently appointed to the office of Grand Chamberlain of the Supreme Council. He has served on many committees and projects of the Supreme Council. He has a passion for the Scottish Rite and travels to many Valley reunions and events throughout the Orient of Idaho.
He also attends reunions in the Orients of Utah and Oregon when his schedule permits.
Joe has been married to his wife Leslie for 43 years and has three grown daughters. One in Ohio and two in Washington state. He has three grandchildren. Two in Washington state and one in Ohio.
